A little bit about Sam Young...

Sam is a student at Holly Springs High School that many look up to. His outgoing personality not only makes him an outstanding person to be around, it also radiates to those around him. As a member of many athletics and clubs, including Football and the Student Bored, Sam is a friend to almost every student attending Holly Springs High School. Sam works hard to spread positivity and raise the self confidence of those around him by being friendly and kind to every student, no matter what grade they are in or what they look like. In only 2 years attendance at Holly Springs High, Sam has changed the the school as we know it. Raising awareness for suicide and making sure everyone has access to the help they need was the fundamentals Sam ran on for the Student Board, and because of Sam more counselors and support are now available to students at Holly Springs High School. 
Football, Running Back, #82

Sam played JV football for Holly Springs High School. His leadership skills along with his ability to work as part of a team was the key to his personal success while also promoting a better team environment. Sams greatest moment in football was the Holly Springs VS Apex Friendship game where he totaled 4 touchdowns, giving his team a 24 point lead in the first 3 quarters. He didn't take credit for his incredible performance, instead he passed the praise off to the entire team saying that "one's success comes from the team, not themselves".
Excellent critical thinking and teamwork skills...

The list of the things Sam hasn't participated in, is shorter than the list of things he has. Sam was a board member on the School Bored and proudly represented the underclassmen of Holly Springs High School. Sam also served on the Student Union, Athletics Club, and Lacrosse Intramural. All of Sam's fellow teammates and club partners would agree that Sam has an amazing and attractive personality. Sam joined multiple clubs to not only build up his transcript, but to make a difference in the schools while also hoping to make friends. One of Sams passion is raising awareness for suicide, and become of him Holly Springs High School has taken additional steps to help prevent student suicide.
Sam's Future...

Although Sam doesn't know exactly where life will lead him, he plans on going to college up in Bowling Green Ohio, and attending Bowling Green State University. BGSU offers many majors that interest Sam, including Business, Accounting, Pre-Law, and Psychology. Bowling Green is also close to nearby Toledo College of Law, an area of study Sam may be interested in pursuing in his future. As for long term plans, Sam plans to "meet an amazing woman in Bowling Green, and live the life he's always dreamed of with her by his side". Sam is not only excited for his future academics, but also finding that special someone to share his life and raise a family with. He doesn't know who that person is yet, but he knows he'll find her, and he can't wait. 

Sam's Accomplishments:

  • 8th Grade, attended the State science fair, winning 3rd place
  • Freshman Year, joined the JV Football team as starting running back
  • Freshman Year, joined numerous clubs including the Student Union, Board, Key, and Lacrosse Extra Cric.
  • Freshman and Sophomore Year, maintained all As and Bs, with a weighted GPA of 3.7
  • Freshman and Sophomore Year, honor roll
  • Raised awareness for Suicide, prompting Holly Springs High School to take action
  • Near perfect attendance, and no/minor school incidents
